yum! It's like a south/central american pesto. And if you like cilantro, you can make it with that instead of parsley for something different.

Oooooh. We both love cilantro. Have to try it that way some time. Tracy just harvested the rest of the garden this morning, though, and the parsley haul was, um, substantial.

I have friends at the Houston show tonight and I just felt the need to tell you this for some reason.

allium, locust, marigold

Allium (Best thing I can cook): Fettucine Alfredo. I cook a lot and I’m pretty good at it (well, I think, at least) but this has been my go-to since forever. And the funny thing is, I already thought my sauce was out of this world but I recently learned how to mount butter into a sauce correctly and I’m like, damn, this is elite now.

Locust (Favorite book as a child): The Jungle Book. Must have read that thing a dozen times over third and fourth grade. We had an old hard-bound copy on the bookshelf and I just picked it up and went to town one night and that was that. (The Disney version makes me cringe because Kipling’s story was not smiles and dancing and cuteness; it was angry, fierce and intense.)

Marigold (Do I listen to what’s on the radio): I hadn’t for a long time but I’m trying to lately. Like, for the last fifteen, twenty years if I had the radio on it was NPR or ESPN. I got my music fix through referrals and random chance. Lately, though, I find myself extraordinarily open to new music so if I’m in the car I’ll throw on one of the local pop/rock/alternative stations and see what’s going on. (On a related note I’m also totally open to checking out any suggestions anyone might have.)
