I need people to hear me out on this, because I'm going fucking insane. I desperately need people to dig deeper on Starscream's actual personality and stop devolving him into a little twinky wimp bitch baby. Because its getting to the point where I'm (albeit, irrationally) getting pissed. Transformers Prime RUINED Starscream, for possibly forever. I say this because Transformers Prime used Starscream as a laughing stock character to laugh at while he fails miserably, and continues to fail miserably. Which pisses me off, because they make him fail to miserably so often to the point when Shockwave confronts him about leaving him on Cybertron, you're hit with a "oh wow Starscream didn't fail??" response, when in reality it should be the opposite. Starscream is INCREDIBLY intelligent, witty, wicked, loud, and brutal. Though his shortcomings are also quiet daunting. Starscream is very emotionally unintelligent, he overthinks, he's cowardly, has a high ego, carries incredible amounts of self-doubt, and he's incredibly selfish, cunning, cold, and self-sabotaging.
But Starscream is capable of change, that's his biggest trait that is most forgotten. He is able to change, and do better. Starscream is albeit, a bit pathetic at times, but not all of the time. Starscream is one of the most complexly written characters in the entire Transformer Franchise. There is a reason why Earthspark failed Starscream, there is also a reason why TFP Starscream is one of the worst Starscreams, and it's because he's hard to fucking write. Armada and IDW have some of the better Starscreams, because they actually change. They are not used as a laughing stock, or dumbed down for the simplicity. A lot of people like Starscream because he's hot, or because he's "a whimpy pathetic little twink", or they like him because he's a complex character. And that's all fine and dandy, but it gets so fucking tiring to see your favorite character being portrayed as a little sexy twinky guy, and having his entire characterization reduced to being a mean gay twink for your poorly written yaoi.
