About 10 thousand years ago, a mountain collapse in the western wart of Kyrgyzstan formed Sary-Chelek Lake, one of the most beautiful sights in Kyrgyzstan. The lake is nestled up in the highlands at about 1,900 metres (6,234 ft) above sea level. Sary-Chelek is translated from Kyrgyz as "Yellow Vessel". In autumn, when the trees around change to Autumn colors from bright red to amber, the slopes and the lake really resemble a yellow vessel with water. Sary-Chelek is located at the territory of Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve which was included in the UNESCO international network of biosphere reserves. In addition to Sary-Chelek, there are 6 smaller lakes on the territory of the reserve. They are home to dozens of species of animal birds and more than a thousand plant species. They say snow leopard roams in the high reaches. The beauty of the lake is impossible to describe, it is definitely a must-see! In sunny weather, Sary-Chelek becomes azure-turquoise, reflecting the blue sky and green mountain slopes. In some places, sheer cliffs go deep into the water. There are amazing views, wonderful smells, and the beauty of pristine nature… Welcome to this miracle of nature for trekking and horseback riding! We bet you will be thrilled not only by the beauty of Sary-Chelek and other lakes, but also by the breathtaking uniqueness of the natural landscapes there! www.KyrgyzGuides.com #sarychelek #centralasia #silkroad #silkway #mountains #kyrgyzguides #Kyrgyzstan #Kirguistán #Кыргызстан #Quirguistão #Kirgistan #Kirghizistan #Kirgisistan #Kirgizië #キルギスタン #Kırgızistan #吉爾吉斯斯坦 #키르기스스탄 #Kirgizistan #Kirgisia #কিরগিজস্তান #قرغيزستان (at Sary-Chelek Kyrgyzstan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPDlzyeneMK/?utm_medium=tumblr
