for over thirty years, studio satori has been built around the belief that creativity thrives when people have the space, tools, and community to bring their ideas to life. now, satori is bringing that idea somewhere new with the satori residency!
we're giving you all a two week creative experience hosted at the satori estate, a private countryside property just outside barcelona, spain. designed as a place for artists, performers, and creators of all kinds to connect, the estate features residential houses, recording studios, production spaces, art workshops, dance studios, screening rooms, outdoor gathering areas, and countless spaces designed for collaboration and inspiration.
the residency invites members from all four satori locations to step away from their usual routines and spend time surrounded by creatives they may have never met before. its focus is on connection, collaboration, and discovering what happens when different creative worlds come together. over the course of two weeks, optional prompts and activities will be offered to encourage interaction and give everyone opportunities to build new connections.
while the residency will run for two weeks, attendance is flexible, and residents are welcome to participate for just one week if needed. anyone currently involved in a canon tour is also welcome to attend, though we ask that you communicate with your fellow tour members beforehand to coordinate schedules and any details that may need to be addressed.
every resident will be assigned to one of twelve houses (ideally 8-10 people per house) located throughout the estate. house assignments will be revealed upon arrival, but everyone interested in attending will first complete a questionnaire to help the satori team better understand their creative interests, personality, collaboration style, and what they hope to experience during the residency. assignments will be thoughtfully curated to encourage new connections and bring together people who may not have otherwise crossed paths.
at the end of each week, the estate will transform for the satori showcase - a celebration of creativity and community. everyone will have the chance to share their work, promote upcoming projects, debut collaborations created during the residency, or highlight anything they're excited about. the showcase will be a full satori event, featuring performances, displays, music, food, activities, and plenty of opportunities for residents to relax, connect, and enjoy the evening together. whether someone is presenting, helping behind the scenes, supporting friends, or simply attending the festivities, everyone will have a place at the showcase.
the satori residency will take place from august 17th through august 30th. while the estate will serve as the heart of the residency, residents are also encouraged to explore barcelona during their stay - from its art, architecture, and culture to the countless experiences the city has to offer beyond the estate. whether you spend your time creating, collaborating, or exploring, the residency is designed to encourage meaningful connections, unforgettable experiences, and friendships that reach well beyond the four satori cities.
