Satanic Slaughter - Towards Damnation’s End

Something I’ve discovered is that I’m not a big fan of Swedish black metal. A friend took it upon himself to find me something that I’d like and it turned out to be the very subtly and humbly named Satanic Slaughter. 

Banished to the Underworld is a really great record. Unlike other Swedish bands, there’s none of that constant blasting and the black metal sections aren’t totally bogged down by Swedish melodeath melodies. There are melodic death metal sections as well as thrash sections, but they often stand on their own. It has sort of a Gaahl era Gorgoroth feel if they were actually good!
