This set of images is only one, small sequence of a collaborative, interdisciplinary art project of unprecedented scope.  I can’t say how grateful I am to be a part of this and how exciting it is to finally be able to share it with you. Two years ago, Nathan Langston of Satellite Collective began an international game of telephone, giving three artists a text to reinterpret in their own mediums and then prompting the next three players to create artwork inspired by the results.  Instead of creating a simple line of succession, Langston often gave multiple artists the same piece of inspiration, gradually weaving the intricate web of influences shown below. 

Ultimately, our game of telephone grew to include 315 painters, sculptors, photographers, writers, musicians, poets, film-makers and performance artists, living and working in forty-two countries. You can view Telephone here, on the interactive website built by Daniel Talsky and Matt Dabrowiak.  I’m still in the process of exploring this massive body of work, but expect to hear more of my thoughts very soon.  In the meantime, you can read what Nathan Langston has to say about the project in this interview with The New York Times.

Mask Workshop Focal Point Gallery Inspired by Paul Johnson's sabaean face artwork currently in the Window gallery and the representations of genuine historic artefacts, we created our own unique masks from salvaged materials - our artefacts for a fictional civilisation.
