1, 15, 22, 25, 39, 51, 57, and 94!
Oooh lots of questions here!
1. coffee mugs, teacups, wine glasses, water bottles, or soda cans?
Coffee mugs for hot beverages, wine glasses for cold. (I am That Person who drinks cranberry juice out of wine glasses in the morning.) I like the look of teacups but don’t actually own any!
15. favorite book you read as a school assignment?
Probably Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles! I remember loving the variety of stories in them, and of course sci-fi is one of my favorite things.
To quote myself from a previous Q&A: Fred Rogers. Chiune Sugihara. Carrie Fisher. Malala Yousafzai. Literally any woman who was a pioneer or “first” in her particular field - I have a poster of Margaret Hamilton with her enormous stack of handwritten code hanging next to my desk at work.
25. first song you remember hearing?
This lullaby by Michael Card. My parents used to play his Sleep Sound In Jesus album (on cassette! CDs were not a thing yet!) when it was bedtime for a good bit of my childhood, and I still find it very soothing.
39. lemon cake or lemon meringue pie?
Taxes, family nonsense, trying to get in shape/back in the habit of working out, trying to write but not having the spoons for it.
57. the three biggest struggles you’ve overcome?
Hmm. This took quite a bit of thought, but here’s what I settled on:
Upending my entire life to move to a different state for my first job (in hindsight I cannot believe how cavalier I was about this, I blame wonky brain chemistry)
Bouncing back from getting laid off with no warning from a contract position (VERY difficult if, like me, you internalize everything and view your work as a reflection of yourself and your worth)
Clawing my way out of the pit of depression over the past year (still an ongoing effort but I’m getting there!)
Autumn! I love the mix of warm and cool weather, all the colors and smells and foods associated with it, and getting to wear my sweaters and boots~!
Thank you so much for asking!
(weird asks that say a lot)
