Thank you so much for the tales of festival this year report. Also, did they announce that Tales of stage will also available on DVD/ Blu-ray? :O
Nope, there are no announcements at the moment. But we can always hope!
Not sure if this already asked by the others or not- what's your opinion on Inoue Toshiki writing ?
oh boy. hm. inoue is so hard to sum up because his stuff can be either really good, like agito or the ichighost movie, or really bad, like faiz & kiva, and there’s just. not much middle ground, y’know? it’s like flipping a coin with him. and yet you always know when you’re watching an inoue show (or even just an inoue episode) bc good or bad it always has that certain indescribable Feel to it.
overall... i call him my nemesis but tbh i’ve enjoyed (sometimes in the reluctant way) just about everything he’s ever written. i think he’s really good at establishing likeable and/or believable characters and relationships, and as someone who watches shows for characters above all else, i’m able to sort of. overlook his weaker aspects as a writer, like bewildering plots with Way Too Much Goin On and an over-reliance on tired tropes.
and i already said this a few days ago iirc but i think he’s one of the best at getting at the heart of kamen rider, so to speak, really capturing the ideals of the older shows and translating them into the heisei era for a modern audience.
which doesn’t mean i wouldn’t fight him in a 1v1 duel if given the chance, but there would be a part of me that would be tempted to go easy on him. he’s given me so much but also ruined my life in so many ways. a true dilemma
The more I watch GARO series, the more i'm thinking that the real enemies are not the horror, but the human and the makai kishi and priest itself x_x
wow, really... i dunno if i’d go that far, but. some of the humans who get possessed by horrors are definitely genuinely terrible people. to the extent where it’s like, even if they’d never been taken over by this demon they might’ve started murdering folks anyway (and i can think of a few who’d already gotten a head start on that beforehand, actually).
and the rate at which makai priests & knights “fall to darkness” or summon up some ancient evil just for the hell of it is pretty astounding, really. i guess you’re surrounded by that stuff all the time and it starts to wear on you, but i still think they need a better screening process for these people... maybe some makai counseling now and then
I'm currently watchin KR Amazons and wow Gorou-chan why did you follow Asakura footsteps lol
serial killer yuge was too much... i’ve always thought he’s better at the cuter roles but i can’t deny he can be a convincing villain too when he puts his mind to it
satsuyurami reblogged your post:suddenly i’m really missing the days when garo...
Soooo did you laugh or cringe when watching this episode?
my reaction was more like
to be honest. it’s just so out of nowhere... i mentioned before how the writer of dragon blood seems to be pretty new to the whole professional tv writing game, but i really wasn’t expecting something on this level of Amateur Plot Twists 101... it’s so baffling and unsatisfying
satsuyurami asked “Hi, lirica. Is your blog deactivated? :O”
Hi! First of all, I’m so sorry I didn’t see this until now! I never look at my activity feed but I just happened to look at it today and I don’t know why it never alerted me about this message. D8
Anyway...I think you mean my blogger/blogspot blog? I did delete it. I’ve been feeling lazy about writing reviews and sometimes I feel like nobody reads what I write there anyway and I’m just yelling into the internet void lol. But I have been thinking of putting it back up again and redoing some things.
Have you heard the news of Tsunenori Aoki?
i haven’t! i hope it’s not anything bad or unfortunate...? i don’t really follow him but he is a talented and handsome guy
