Impulsive Northern Weekend
Pagudpud, Saud Beach
I know I already blogged about this, my Ilocos trip, but I just want to make, uhm, detailed. Heck, whatever, Imma do this. Haha. Forgive me. I consider this my first trip in the Philippines with friends at unknown place, internet based itinerary and not that so impulsive trip. Did I say my first trip with friends? Haha. Hell yeah, I was excited then! (Kahit hindi halata, pero promise, oo. Well, actually, there was someone or something that can ruin it for me, back then, pero i will not divulged what was it. (Gusto ko lang ilabas kaya ko sinabi)
So there, since I consider this my first Wow Philippines trip, okay, More Fun in the Philippines trip, I'll try to share my experience. Well I hope so. And I think I'll do it in a series na naman. Ugh.
It was a weekend trip.
March 01, 2013, Friday
After office hours, and after fixing stuff that we'll bring, we met at Florida Bus Line Station in Kamias, Quezon City. The pink bus that goes to Ilocos. I forgot the destination, Cagayan yata. Basta daraan syang Pagudpud which was our first target destination. Yihie
Here we are. Ayaw magpakuha nung isa naming kasama. Haha, Actually hindi pa kami close nung isa na yun that time. Pati seat covers pink din. At buti, ang nasakyan namin bus ay may CR.
We left Quezon City by 7pm... or 8? Around that time. Sakto umalis. Okaaay, as much as I want to enjoy the sceneries, eh gabi, so madilim lang. Matulog na lang. The trip was looooonnnggg. Then we arrived at Pagudpud by around 5:30. Basta magbubukang liwayway.
Weather was partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Lol.
March 02, 2013
After dropping off the bus near the Pagudpud Shell-clam monumnent, we waited for our tricycle that will bring us to Ate Cathy's homestay which is where we'll stay the night. Thanks to blogs and internet that recommended her.
We passed by Municipal Hall of Pagudpud going to Ate Cathy's which was a stone's throw away to Saud beach.
And whoa. The beach is fine ha! Fine like its fine sand. Haha, corny. pero seryoso. Siguro dahil bihira lang ako makapagbeach pero napipinuhan talaga ako sa sand.
We made a few Magpakailanman stroll at the beach befpre we ate our breakfast
Expression: Priceless
Actually, just a candid shot. Yeah, no waves yet, to early for big waves.
Ate Cathy's homestay "beach front" is rocky, so swimming isn't advisable, but from there, you can see the windmills which will be our second destination!
Can you see them?
So after our breakfast, Jerome befriended some girls, her bitchez, for their itinerary and transportation. Luckily, they're just the same as ours. I mean, no plans too.
(Bububuubbuuttt. But I had already a plan and made an itinerary and knew of the tourcycles and tours coz of the inernetz coz i was excited and shizzz)
Anyway, Luckily again, their tourcycles only allows them to carry three passengers per trike. Good thing our numbers match, we are four and 5 of them.
So we start our Northern exposure trip na! Ride the tourcycles!
I chose to ride sa likod ni kuya so I can fully enjoy the scenery, enjoy and breathe fresh air. And good thing also, it was cloudy that time! Cool weather.
Then we took our first group shot together from where our feet first touched Ilocos grounds. Lol
Jeromes bitchez were friends from a call center in QC and just randomly decided to unwind.
And our group shot together naman.
Jerome, Julian, Jodie, Jeth. Okay, we're all J's. Hahaha. To be honest, hindi ko pa sila 100% kaclose that time. Whattheheck, I want an adventure! Frustrated traveler nga eh. Traveler and bestfriend.

Saud Beach Pagudpud Ilocos Norte
Saud Beach in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte is probably the most popular beach destination in the northern part of Luzon. It is often dubbed as the "Boracay of the North". It has a long stretch of fine, powdery sands dotted with coconut trees which give the beach a tropical feel. Saud is nearer to Pagudupud town center compared to Blue Lagoon beach. It has a veryscenic view and is often visited not just by local tourists but foreigners as well.
After the day-long Pagudpud North Tour, Arnel, the tricycle driver who served as our guide, took us to Polaris Beach House in Saud Beach. It is where we booked our accommodation and after settling down our backpacks in our room we hurriedly went down to the beach. From Polaris, Saud Beach is only about 50 meters away.
Contrary to popular belief, the sands of Saud Beach are not really as white as those in Boracay. Saud's sands are a bit yellowish to light brownish in color and since we arrived there in late afternoon, the setting sun lent it a beautiful golden hue. The sands are also very soft that our feet would often sink while walking along the beach.
at Polaris Beach Resort, Saud Ilocos Norte
Polaris Beach Resort is located at the center of Saud beach, from the beach resort the beach front is approx 25 meters away, bancas are available for beach or island tours.
How to get there
Going to Pagudpud from Manila, Florida Bus Line has a direct trip to Pagudpud daily, its terminal is located in Sampaloc, Manila. Partas, Baliwag, Fariсas and other bus company heading to northern Luzon offer Manila-Laoag trips.
From Laoag, it is a two hour jeepney/bus ride to Pagudpud. From Tuguegarao, GMW Liner and Florida Liner trips to Laoag, Vigan or Abra pass through Pagudpud, fare is not more than P250.00. To go to Saud, ask the driver to drop you off at Baduang Market then take a Traysi to Saud.
