hi im super curious about your definition of bisexual and i wanna ask questions in the least offensive way as possible. i know you said biphobes are always trying to squeeze the two into the definition of bisexual but i dont understand why it shouldnt be there? like i get that a bisexual can be attracted to women and nonbinary people or man and women etc. but if you like more than two gender identities then why not just identify as pan? sorry if this is assuming or rude!

the short answer is that when most people hear "i'm bi" they just automatically assume "oh, so it's not about gender for you." they don't think "oh, so you're attracted to men and women, but not nonbinary people? or maybe men and nonbinary people, or not women? or just cis men and cis women?" most people don't put too much thought into it. similarly, most people outside of lgbtqiap+ circles and online social justice circles don't know what pansexuality is and as such i'd have to explain it to people all the time and then of course i'd also have to explain nonbinary gender identities and gender identity in general and that would be a living hell for me

also the "two gender groups" thing is a more recent definition that most bi people don't actually use, and it's shitty to try and force everyone to stick to that new rigid definition instead of just letting people use whatever label is most comfortable

Did you mean Bill C-279, the one about transgender rights? Bill C-297 is an old bill with regards to suicide prevention.

As far as I can tell, it has not passed or been defeated. Its still in the senate. That article was from ~2 weeks ago and I can’t find anything more recent. One senator in particular is intent on getting it defeated, but it could still pass in the future if the other conservative senators vote for it.
