The whole of F1- FIA, drivers, sponsors etc are messed up. From the obvious problematic things that we’ve all called them out for to the stuff everyone seems to ignore- racing in China whilst the Uyghur Muslims experience Holocaust 2.0, allowing Israel to be represented in F2 knowing that it’s literally an apartheid state- the list goes on. Everyone’s targeting Max bc he’s the most transparent & thus easy to hate on but I’m certain there’s so many other personnel just as bad just not in public.
Absolutely. FIA isn’t shy about them being fucked up.
From the countries they do business with, to threatening Brazil’s eco system. Let’s not forget they’re tryna tear down protected land to build a new circuit they don’t need in a spot they have no business wrecking (- and thank you to the anons who all came to my inbox to talk about this too! ❤️)
It’s rly important to keep this energy and call out all their fuckery. Will it fix things overnight? No. But it’s still important
Good news from Brazil! A new reserve for Cherry-throated Tanager is a step toward staving off the species' extinction. Only about 50 of the birds remain. https://abcbirds.org/article/good-news-brazilian-bird-brink/ Photo by Ciro Albano

Just in from Brazil, where ABC's Dan Lebbin is traveling. "Visiting Pedra d'Anta Reserve at Serra do Urubu - Reserva Pedra D'Anta with SAVE Brasil. We saw areas being restored from pasture to forest, an ongoing hummingbird garden project ABC is supporting, where this Red-necked Tanager appeared."
Near one of the world's biggest cities, a tiny bird hangs on to existence: the São Paulo Marsh Antwren. With SAVE Brasil and government and other partners, we hope to support creation of a municipal wildlife reserve for the critically endangered species. ABC's Dan Lebbin and Bennett Hennessey visited these marshes with Pedro Develey (SAVE Brasil Executive Director) this past weekend. The group reports they saw three São Paulo Marsh Antwrens in the late afternoon!
Bearded Bellbird might just be the oddest of this odd group of birds. The male birds' metallic call can be heard up to a half-mile away, giving it the nickname "anvil-bird." Baby birds look a bit like toxic caterpillars, a defense against predators. The Bearded Bellbird is one of hundreds of bird species that benefit from our conservation efforts with partner @savebrasil. We are working to protect the most important forest fragment of northeastern Atlantic Forest—the Pernambuco area—by planting trees and protecting border areas of old-growth forest. These areas, including the ABC-supported Serra do Urubu Reserve, shelter the declining Brazilian subspecies of Bearded Bellbird as well as other threatened endemics, including Seven-colored Tanager, Pinto's Spinetail, and Golden-tailed Parrotlet. https://abcbirds.org/bird/bearded-bellbird/ Photo by Glenn Bartley of @bartleys_photo_workshops
