PS now I'm on Twitter: @SBTbellhooks
Image description: A still image from the 90’s TV sitcom Saved By The Bell. Jessie and Kelly are positioned in front of shelving holding books and a trophy. They are holding their hands up in quotation signals and both have mocking expressions on their faces. The caption reads “many of the women who had paved the way for the institutionalization of women’s studies were fired because they had master’s degrees and not doctorates.”

Image description: A still image from the 90’s TV sitcom Saved By The Bell. Jessie sits at the top of the row, hands clasped in front of her, sitting upright and attentive. She has a pile of books on the desk in front of her. Zack sits three seats behind her. His posture is irreverent: his hands crossed, and a smirk on his face. There are no books on his desk. The caption reads “ I was acutely aware of my class, and I was acutely aware of the limitations imposed on me by gender.”

Image description: A still image from the 90’s TV sitcom Saved By The Bell. In a locker room, Kelly, Lisa, and Jessie are standing in a row with perturbed, disapproving and quizzical expressions on their faces. They are looking toward Violet, who is looking away from them with an agitated expression on her face. Violet’s clothing and hairstyle contrast starkly with the others’, and the scene depicts her as being separate from the group. (Interpretation of scene is my own.) The caption reads “There can be no such thing as "power feminism" if the vision of power evoked is power gained through the exploitation and oppression of others.”

RANDOM
saved by the bell hooks is a feminist tumblr account that is dedicated to posting quotes from Bell Hooks, a famous social activist and feminist as well as an author, posted on scene captures from the 90′s sitcom “Saved by the Bell”. The main purpose of this account is to highlight Bell Hooks and her feminist beliefs. This account is a must to follow since the posts made are all direct quotations from Bell Hooks whether it was said in an interview or taken directly from her writings with an added touch of creativity by being posted on scenes from the sitcom that grab the viewers attention but is also clever enough to make it seem as though the characters are saying the quotes themselves.
Seems like a good time to repost this #savedbythebellhooks #meme 🤔 💯 #bellhooks #lizlarabee
