Mealworms are not only able to eat various forms of plastic, as previous research has shown, they can consume potentially toxic plastic additives in Styrofoam with no ill effects, a new study shows. The worms can then be used as a safe, protein-rich feed supplement.

Because I was diagnosed with Valley Fever (not contagious), sleep study was ordered and they prescribed one sleeping pill to ensure you sleep otherwise, I presume it would be a big waste of time if you can’t do it on your own. They gave me this huge container for the tiniest of pills (ONLY ONE) . I think this is part of what’s wrong with our society. We see the resources as overly abundant. We then turn them into garbage because most people do t recycle and the garbage turnes into an unmanageable and harmful concern. I’m not going to recycle because I think that causes just about the same environmental issues. I will repurpose instead at the risk of being called the garbage lady (like my daughter so affectionally calls me). Over the years, I’ve collected many so if you want some let me know. Letting go of the convenience of plastics is not an easy task. ENDING OUR LOVE-AFFAIR WITH PLASTIC. Once upon a time there wasn't any plastic. In my lifetime I have witnessed the change over. Years ago supermarkets only had paper bags. (I remember this!) When plastics bags came up, they were promoted as a way to save trees. (And we thought this was a good idea!) Today, trees are being planted again & again to replace the harm caused by deforestation. But that isnt a true solution to the #plastic problem. Paper needs to be saved as well. #Recycled paper causes less harm to the enviro than recyled plastic. If paper ends up in a landfill or littered on a street it will breakdown. It is #biodegradable. SOLUTIONS: For every store item that is made or packaged in plastic that you consider purchasing take a moment to ❗️STOP❗️ And consider the alternative.
