Every year, I try to support/donate to various causes to help out the world's wildlife. It also come with the added bonus of cool merch and PLUSH! This year I'm helping #savelacougars @savelacougars-blog get one step closer to helping these magnificent big cats (and neighbors) safely navigate through California traffic. With the purchase of the famous P22, savelacougars will continue to monitor California's cougars to give them all a wonderful future!

A celebration of life for this magnificent creature. There aren’t words to express the shame I feel every day for the seemingly limitless cruelty, selfishness, heartlessness of humans. I met Beth Pratt at the P-22 Day Festival! She is wearing a GPS collar similar to P-22's and she just led a 50 mile hike from Liberty Canyon to Griffith Park this week for Urban Wildlife Week! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Beth's Bio from www.savelacougars.org ~~~~~~~~~~~ Beth Pratt, National Wildlife Federation’s California Director, leads the #SaveLACougars campaign, and has worked in environmental leadership roles for over twenty years, and in two of the country’s largest national parks: Yosemite and Yellowstone. From working with wolves to bears, she says “nothing has inspired me more than helping to build this landmark crossing outside of Los Angeles to help save this urban population of mountain lions”. #Repost @natgeo (@get_repost) ・・・ @natgeo @stevewinterphoto Here is a bobcat overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. An outtake from my cougar story. Before setting up in Griffith Park in LA and getting the Hollywood Cougar - I had cameras above the Golden Gate Bridge on a ridge line in Marin County overlooking San Francisco. Though there were signs of a cougar - I never got an image of one - so I moved the cameras to LA. As we branch out of our cities looking for new homes we move into the homes of animals. We do live with wildlife in our everyday lives, including small and larger predators. As with the cougars of the Santa Monica Rec Area - our largest Urban Park north of LA - there has never been a attack by a cougar on humans. We have not been apart of predators “image search” for food for millennium. We are upright walking on 2 legs with forward facing eyes. And we do not taste good! We use shampoos, deodorants, toothpaste, perfumes, we ingest chemicals in our everyday lives - we stink. So lets all live together.
