"Amid ongoing controversy over its killer whale shows, SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. reported a 13% drop in attendance for the first three months of the year." - LA Times
Recently, The LA Times reported that Sea World attendance figures have decreased by 13%. Although Sea World claim that the film 'Black Fish', exposing and informing viewers about Sea World's animal practices, has not influenced this decrease, this film is clearly making an impact.
These figures highlight that attendance figures at Sea World have decreased. Whilst Sea World claim that this is due to higher admission fees and an increase in in-park spending, these cannot be the only reasons.
By continuing to inform people and expose them to Sea World's practices, we can make a change for the better. This article is evidence that slowly, attendance numbers at Sea World are gradually decreasing.
Animals do not deserve to be held hostages. Animals should not be a source of entertainment. Animals deserve to live in the wild and should not be locked in cages. Animals should not be pressured and forced to perform for companies, like Sea World, to generate greater profit.
We need to make a change. Everyone needs to stop paying for admission. Everyone needs to stop visiting animal parks, like Sea World. Everyone needs to understand that these cruel practices do happen at Sea World. Everyone needs to understand that these animals, wish to live happily in the ocean.
This change needs to start today.
