I blankly stared at the old television as the puppet started blabbering about something.
When it became silent I blinked and zoned back in, "huh?".
"Do you understand?" he asked.
I pursed my lips and looked around the room, "understand...what" I mumbled.
I heard him deeply sigh, "w- where you even listening?"
"To you? No....what'd you say?" I asked, adjusting my position on the tile floor to be more comfortable.
The puppet just stared at the screen for a second, I stared back and gave him an awkward smile.
"What's your name again? I forgot" I asked, licking my lips and noticing they were slightly chapped, "also if it's no problem I could use a glass of water".

"Are you...joking with me?" the puppet asked.
I gave him a smile, "just a little bit".
