A nice surprise.
@saygeko ; days before the imps attack ; @ Giolas’ (a foolish man) mansion
Gowyu was not one to refuse an invitation, all opportunities were good ones not to build connections, no, he did genuinely enjoy spending time doing other things. A promise of a good time would never have him reluctant to follow through with a meeting and he knew this fae’s tendencies for what was considered a good event. The fae’s name escaped Gowyu’s mind, he didn’t think it important enough to lodge it in his memory log. The things that occupied his mind were not of such trivial measures like the name of someone who was clearly trying to leech off the status of the Ko. Although, Gowyu could say he remembered the man’s stature and allure, at the very least he could give him that--he had a regal appearance that didn’t make for a bad time spent in his company.
As long as this party was as entertaining as the last one, Gowyu would try to even keep his name in mind for the night. Then forget it the next day as he would awake in a sea of bodies as was usually of these gatherings. He was expecting that of this gathering, so he put the way it felt too quiet and solemn when he arrived at the man’s entrance. No other carriages could be observed when Gowyu took a step out of his, he adjusted the pan of the elongated black coat he’d thrown over his shoulders. The weight of it was worth the luxury image it gave him, a silver at either side of it held it in place without any help from his hands.
Gowyu scanned the entrance alley one more time, turned on his heels and threw a glance over his shoulder at one of his men standing right behind him. Of course they would turn left and right to always shield him where he was most vulnerable--the back.
“Did you make sure to get us to the right place?” He asked in a manner that demanded one thing--no stammering and a well put out answer. Because anger would quickly be his next sentiment if it was done so. Before they could answer though, footsteps approached from behind and had Gowyu slowly turning back to face the large doors of the mansion, all of white dressed came the man whose face he could recognize of course. So it was not the wrong place.
“Am I early?” Gowyu asked before the other man could speak, in fact, he interrupted whatever was about to be uttered by him. He had questions and if he didn’t like what he would be hearing, anger would be quick to surface next.
“Not at all, I thought it would be adequate to have something a little more, intimate” The man moved with grace, one could give him that. Taller than Gowyu and his hair platinum and falling over his back was slid back in too much of a perfect style. He was too put together, in fact. Gowyu was growing disinterested by the second, what the hell did intimate even mean? This was not part of the plan and he was going to leave right this instant. At least this fae wanted him to lose his patience and do something that would soon taint the beautiful stairs of his property.
Yet again though, a carriage seemed to move right behind Gowyu’s and the next thing that happened were events that would later have him curse himself for not seeing them coming. Or maybe not. But the moment the man opened his mouth to announce the arrival--
“Oh, our next guest is finally here and it is none other than your lovely sister.”
Every other word and sound after the words sister was a simple brouhaha to his ears. Because one thing became clear cut in his stone the moment the man announced such a ridiculous thing, whatever this trap was for, the price to pay would have to be crimson clear. Gowyu let his hands slide in the pockets of his trousers, to not do something his mother would soon call foolish, rightfully so. But he could tell the moment his lovely sister left her carriage and the fae that had made this possible, for them both to be in the same place at the same time was greeting her as a good host would.
Gowyu stayed still at the bottom of the stairs, looking up at the sky before turning his head to also acknowledge her arrival.
“What a nice surprise, lovely sister, you should have told me of your visit, I would have thought of an adequate present for the occasion.” It was all false pretenses, Gowyu had hundred years of practice under his sleeves he never wanted to use with Sayge but always knew to pull out whenever it was needed.
