Im seeing so many aus that are like “Hero Flambae and Villain Waterboy” which like, absolutely yes, i eat that up, its fuckin SCRUMPTIOUS, but hear me out,,,
An AU where Waterboy and Flambae’s elements from which their powers originate from are swapped!
“But, dvd!”, you say to me, “thats just a really roundabout way of saying a role swap!”, and to you i respond!!
Oh you sweet summer child, i am not proposing a role swap, i am not even proposing a flat “give them each others powers” swap!!! For you see, their roles stay the same because of the TEMPERATURE at which they wield each others powers stays EXACTLY the same as how they wield their own!!! Flambae is still hot headed as ever, and Waterboy is still cooled off and shrimpy!
Ladies and gentleman of the jury, meet Scaldera and PlasmaLad.
Scaldera is Flambae’s watershedding counterpart, but he’s more likely to mold a room with all the steam he gives out from that boiling temper of his. He may not be as explosive as his flame slinging counterpart, but theres nothing stopping him from burning you regardless, and from what I’ve heard, a water burn can cause way more damage way quicker than fire. He’s as volatile as the magma that bubbles under the surface of a caldera, don’t take this walking sauna as someone to mess with just because that magma isn’t visible yet.
PlasmaLad is the shockingly cool counterpart to Waterboy, he doesn’t have a flame per say, its a jolt of electricity that sparks his powers to life, but he’s not likely to hurt you if you came in contact with the cold plasma he gives off. He’s great when you need attention to detail or a delicate touch, cold plasma is often used in medicine because it can sterilize without damaging the surface of either skin or materials! If you need a wound disinfected, he’s your guy! And you can usually find him somewhere around any of the OSHA compliant medkits scattered around SDN.
Ive yet to draw the new designs I have for them but it would be so cool if this inspired anyone else to give a whirl at their own character designs, and yknow, name idea recommendations for this au would be greatly appreciated seeing as I’m a little stumped on that!
