Wolf Scans

Hey there everyone ^_^

I’ve gotten a few asks about when/if I am planning to share scans for Megamix Wolf.

Sorry I’m so late in making a reply, but I have been on vacation for the past two weeks.

First things first: 

Yes, I have scanned Wolf, and do plan on uploading the scans.

So what’s taking so long?!: 

Good question!

Here’s the thing: the last time I shared scans, almost immediately they were uploaded to reader sites.

Which isn’t a problem. I did indeed share them because I wanted as many fans as possible to see them. I was elated to share.

However--

I realized that in being so quick to share, I run the risk of possibly adversely effecting Murakami’s livelihood.  

Ergo, I have since decided not to share raw scans until the doujin is out of print.

Most of Murakami’s doujinshi have a limited print run and tend to sell out fairly quickly. Wolf is still available. It does seem to be taking longer to sell out than her last doujin, but perhaps she was expecting higher demand and pressed more copies. 

If you are able, I encourage you to get a copy of your own. I was able to find one here.

If you are unable to buy a copy, I am sorry, but you will have to wait just a bit longer before I share scans.

Good news though!

I’ve already (almost) assembled a team to scanlate it. The scans are currently being cleaned, and as soon as they have finished up their current project, a translator is already lined up too. I’ve yet to assign a typesetter (anyone interested?) but it will be a little while until it’s ready for that.

A Note About Sharing Scans

So, it came to my attention (awhile ago but I’m just now getting around to addressing it) that my scans for Pudding have made their way to reader sites, and that’s okay ^_^

It really is. I have no desire to play gatekeeper or police, and honestly it would be hopelessly naive of me to think I can control other people’s behavior on the Internet.

Besides, I scanned it because I wanted to share it. I want as many people as possible to read, and enjoy, and discuss, and become fans of Murakami’s works, but I certainly don’t have the time or energy to find every corner of the Internet to spread them myself.

So why am I bothering to post this?

Because, one, I am also trying to get people together to translate these works. 

Someone may very well come across these scans, who might be willing to translate, but doesn’t have either the skill with photoshop, or time to make a complete scanlation. Or who would love to be involved in scanlating, and has good photoshop skills, but not the ability to translate on their own.

I would love to get these people together so we can make English (and other language, if I can find more bi- or multilingual translators) versions of these doujinshi.

And, two, I don’t want to adversely affect Murakami’s livelihood.

The only thing I can do about number two, is wait until her doujins have gone out of print before sharing scans in the future. Or possibly not sharing raws if I’m able to get a scanlation team together before the doujin goes out of print.

(And also share buying info for anyone interested in buying/collecting them, which would support the original artist.)

A Note About Scanlations:

If you share our scanlations, please leave in the credit pages.

Personally, I’m just doing this for the joy of sharing them, but a lot of work goes into making a good scanlation. And I’m lucky to have found super awesome people to help me make them, so I want to make sure they get all the credit they deserve.

I find watermarks ugly (and awfully egotistical to stamp my symbol all over the original artist’s work when even she doesn’t put her name on every page), so I will never use them. But it can be disheartening to put so much work into something and not be recognized for it.

Indeed, I’ve seen and heard of many translators, scanners, and scanlation teams that quit because their wishes for how their work was shared were not respected.

I promise I’m not going to threaten to pack up my toys and go home, but I do wish for everyone on my scanlation team to feel valued, so please respect this tiny wish and leave any credit pages intact when sharing the whole work.

And if you just want to share a page or a panel, that’s great (editing is also fine), but it would be super awesome if you could link the original source.
