if you're taking prompts atm, could you please write a scenario of the voltron crew (college au maybe?) going out for a meal and one of them is casein intolerant and they are accidentally given something with milk in it and have a bad reaction?
Going to scenario list this because my knowledge on this is limited, but I wanted to give it a shot! (Also, so sorry Lance. You are my target.)
(Further note: This leans WAY toward allergy and less toward intolerance. I hope that’s okay to the requester.)
- Lance is careful when it comes to eating, but when he goes out with friends, he sometimes gets carried away.
- It doesn’t take long during his dinner with Shiro, Hunk, Pidge, and Keith to figure out that he was given something with milk in it.
- He tries to play it off, but only moments later, his skin begins to crawl with hives that he tries to discreetly scratch at when everyone is distracted.
- However, when his throat begins to feel like it’s closing, he can’t hide it anymore, and he desperately waves his hands around as panic begins to set in.
- By now, all of his friends are looking on with concern. Hunk is quick to the conclusion that Lance is choking, but when he asks, Lance only frantically shakes his head while motioning to his food.
- His lungs are wheezing by now as he breathes out ragged, choppy breaths, and the cramping in his stomach is enough to leave his eyes watering.
- The other four watch on with horror, but the gears in Pidge’s mind begin to turn, and soon enough, she’s looking at a menu to see the ingredients in Lance’s meal.
- When she sees “milk” by something Lance is eating, she shifts into overdrive and starts barking out orders while Lance helplessly watches with one hand clamped around his throat and the other pressed hard against his churning stomach.
- An ambulance is called with the promise of a three minute arrival, and when Lance hears that, he lets out a small whimper. He isn’t sure he can last another three minutes. His vision is growing hazy from lack of oxygen, and he’s consistently swallowing down the bile that’s clawing up his tight throat.
- He’s freely crying now, and Hunk rubs a hand up and down his back while Shiro crouches in front of him.
- Keith goes to wait for the ambulance while Pidge explains to the restaurant manager what’s happening.
- Shiro is doing his best to sooth Lance’s discomfort, but Lance is too far gone for comfort. His stomach lurches, and he clamps a hand over his mouth but it’s too late.
- He’s able to turn his head away from his two friends just before heaving onto the floor by their table.
- Embarrassment leaves his face glowing red, but moments later, Keith comes charging back to the table with two EMTs hot on his heels.
- The entire restaurant watches with bated breath as the two EMTs briefly examine Lance before one runs off to bring in a gurney.
- While this is happening, Lance is trying to push past his closing throat and the nausea coursing through him to say a gurney is unnecessary, but Pidge and Shiro both tell Lance it’s for the best.
- Later, once Lance has been treated at the hospital, Pidge spends a solid five minutes scolding Lance for his recklessness, but when his response is welling eyes, she backs off and hugs him.
- The others follow suit with tight hugs accompanied with comments such as “don’t ever do that again, asshole,” “you had us so worried,” and “i’m glad you’re okay.”
- The four stay with Lance until he can be discharged, and while Lance is still incredibly embarrassed as well as exhausted, he stays up the entire time with his friends- thankful for the four for being there.
