Krakow | 24th, 25th January
Krakow is one of top three favourite cities this leg. Walking along the streets in krakow is like walking in a history textbook. Perhaps because we were staying in the Jewish ghettos, where almost every building in the vicinity was rich with history.
The highlight of our journey from Berlin to Krakow was Princess Cheesecake we bought in the midst of rushing to the airport in Berlin. The cheesecakes we brought all the way from Berlin were the best we have eaten. (http://www.princess-cheesecake.de/)
The new york cheesecake had a great (lemon) twist to it. It was light yet creamy, and the digestive biscuit base was of the right thickness. The chocolate cheesecake was delicious as well. We shall just let the pictures speak for themselves.
After our cheesecake, we were still famished, and decided to heed trip advisor's advice again. We checked out Warsztat, a restaurant Jon found online. It was a beautiful place! The ingenius and innovative use of musical instruments to decorate the place. We were then told that this restaurant was occupying what used to be a music store.
All of the dishes surpassed expectations, except the slightly disappointing salmon pasta. The pasta was al dente, but the sauce was a little too creamy for our liking.
Really good French Onion Soup
Mushroom Risotto
We found the mushroom risotto palatable because it tasted quite like local fried rice that we were all craving for.
Next morning, we stayed home to receive the twins from lund. So happy to meet them after such a long while! It was snowing since the previous night so we woke up to a snow-covered park and a frozen river.
Off to Bagel Mama for lunch! and they were just too hungry
The Classic - Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Tomatoes, Red Onions
The Breakfast Bagel - Bacon, Eggs, Gouda Cheese
Enroute to Schindler's Factory. Watch Schindler's List if you can, although hollywood's take on Schindler was slightly inaccurate, the gist of the movie was fine.
On our way to Wawel Castle
We had so much fun taking photographs on the way that by the time we reached the heart of the castle, they were closed!
Dinner was at Kawaleria, a restaurant on the Michelin Guide
Steak, Potato Croquette, Red Cabbage
Butter Chicken Breast, Creamed Spinach, Bacon, Potato
Pork with Gouda Cheese, Sauteed Potatoes
