Finally done w finals, recovering, and trying to draw ppl from the newest fandom I dove into. (Walking Dead, and also do NOT act surprised when I tell you I got attached to Daryl. Shut up. 🫣)
Also good God I love Star Wars but anyone else get that out in their stomach when confronted by the reminders of how tragic and inevitable so much of the story is? Weeping over here. I wanna do SW more but idk why, atm, I feel like touching it w anything less than a 10-ft pole is gonna make me burst into tears—tho that may just be the depression and mild creative burnout.
Gonna toss a TWD thing at y'all today btw, sorry to all I haven't dmed properly in like, a year???? 2022 kicked me in the ass and then also tossed it's lunch on me for most of it. 💀
FINALS WEEK.... 😩 I will soon be done with summer semester lol... Hallelujah lol 😃 👏
I personally think math could be fun but classes and school shove it down our throats, pressure us to do it in impossibly short timing, embarrass us when we get the answers wrong and claims that it's essential to life and then expect us to apply calculus and algebra to problems that can be solved by simple addition and multiplication.
DH returned today f2f work this week for in-service days. He starts with students next week. I am full on beat y’all. I can’t keep up with the kids, the house, meal planning, appointments, grocery shopping, cooking, schooling, and working. This was only his second day back and I feel like I’ve run a daily marathon.
Yesterday, I had to run E to a specialist appointment. Now that I can’t take other kids to appointments with me, things are super complicated. At any rate, we saw a GI specialist, and he ran me through the worst case scenarios for juvenile polyposis. She’s at risk for it due to her genetic diagnosis. I remember learning when she received her initial genetic diagnosis that she would have to get a colonoscopy when she was in her teens, and feeling like that was a long way off. Yesterday he said she should have one when she is 12, and that is only about four years off. It seems so close now. We talked about cancer and worst case scenarios. It was helpful to have a better understanding of what could happen, and I actually walked away feeling like the worst case scenario (ileostomy) was something that we could totally manage. I’m counting it as a win.
Ms. 6 is running cross country for the first time ever. Her coach told me today that she’s doing an amazing job. I don’t care if it’s an outright lie; it still felt good to hear it. I am having MAJOR struggles with her school in trying to obtain testing for her for a possible IEP that I’ve been asking for since April. I had her privately tested last week by Lindamood-Bell, and they said she tested at a fifth grade math level (she’s heading into ninth grade). Her reading comprehension was better, but still not up to grade level. Lindamood-Bell wants to do intensive tutoring 5 days/week for 4 hours/day. They think they can catch her up in 7-9 weeks. That’s all well and good, but they charge $124/hour which means my total cost would be over $16k if she gets done in 7 weeks instead of 9. I hate the school right now because they are openly being contentious which is the same thing we ran into when DD attended. I’m thinking about cutting my losses and homeschooling her but think I would have to start her in elementary school math. I don’t know where to begin in choosing a curriculum. Once again, schools and foster care are a poor mix (at least that’s the case for our kids).
Baby is set up to begin HeadStart next week. Six kids in the room. Socially distanced on the bus. Everyone wears a mask. Seems like a best case scenario to me. Except they made the decision to go four days a week instead of five. Last week. No idea what I’ll do on the day that he is now scheduled to be home.
NB is supposed to go to daycare three days a week. One of those days is the day Baby will be home. 😳 I’m probably going to die from the stress of this scenario. (Can you tell I’m feeling slightly dramatic tonight?)
i have one more hour to turn in my accounting thing and i’m nowhere near finished oh god i’m failing i’m not even gonna get to turn it in
My school semester is starting up and I’m really not ready for it :(
