so i have done absolutely nothing with the v1 ultrakill pillow since i got it because i’m too self-conscious to have it in my room, i’m scared one side or the other will get discovered and also i’m not digging the mirage side in general i’m intimidated by robots with my body dimensions.

my mom’s friend gave me a whole bunch of fabric, including some super soft flannel with blue airplanes that happened to match the color scheme of this pillow perfectly.

some removed stitches, cut fabric, and sewing machine whirrs later, i now have two lewd robot pillows with stealth mode (flip it over, its just an airplane pillow i promise!).  and the current plan is that the mirage one is going to a goodwill

kind of want to keep practicing my hand sewing on making plushies so that maybe i can make stuff good enough to sell on etsy, /co/ really granted me a second wind with my sewing regarding the glendoll, i’d never gotten actual genuine support on it before so thats cool

i added some stitches to my glendale ragdoll’s head to make her ears more distinct, and that made her look a lot better.

now i’m in a “vintage handmade plushies” sewing mood and going through pinterest for more pattern to follow

my glendale ragdoll that i sewed.  i’m not the best sewer (in fact, i’m terrible at it), and this was a very complex project.  you have the gerenuk body with the humanoid top, and that top has arms and hair attached.  most of my dolls have just been circles or two identical pieces, MAYBE with some extra bits.  AND i insisted on sewing this by hand, which made things even more difficult.

her body turned out nice (which is a weird statement out of context), but the top part is ehhhhh.  the arms are just a total mess, i had no idea how to go about making them (also, now that i’m looking at it, i think i put them in backwards).  her ears are just shlocked on her her head, so she just looks like a hammerhead shark.  i forgot to stabilize her neck so she’s really floppy.

but i made her and i’m happy.  and she’s /co/-approved, so that’s wonderful!

i dont think i ever posted the hal 9000 pillow i made a few months back.

i’d found an official hal plusie on ebay, but it was seventy bucks and very tiny.  i figured for that much, i could make my own custom hal.  i don’t like working with solid color calicos, i like having some sort of pattern to spice it up.  found this fabric on sale from joanns; the black with dots is a halloween fabric, but it made me think of stars and therefore the whole “ITS FULL OF STARS” thing.  it works.  then some christmas fabric for contrast, and a red bandana for the eye (that i made TOO DAMN BIG but oh well).  then i painted on the logo/speaker bits and stuffed it and ta-da!  my own hal plushie that looks properly sized for $70!

actually, it turned out even bigger than i’d planned.  its absolutely massive.  like, as big as my torso.  maybe bigger.  very comfy, though.

so i went and made a face mask today, since i seriously dont think the store i work at will be closing down and i need to be wearing something in order to keep myself from panicking when i go back on monday.  we also apparently have some actual medical masks in the house somewhere, but i can’t find them (but you bet i’ll be using those too, if i do indeed find them).  but yeah, if i have to work during this, i can’t be having a mental breakdown like i was trying to this past week.  seriously, i ended up only working three days but the stress made it feel like three months.

and i’m reading up on it, any mask is better than no mask when it comes to protecting yourself against certain pandemics currently flying around.  scarves, shirts, bandanas, all of that provide decent protection.  so if you can’t get medical masks, there are options.  but if you wanna sew one and you already have fabric and elastic lying around (i recommend you do not go out and buy some for this, as i mentioned there are other options and please don’t put us craft store workers at risk), this is the pattern i used.  there’s other patterns on pinterest, as well.

so i guess this is my panic pandemic advice post.

(sunglasses don’t really do anything to my knowledge, i’m just wearing them because my eyes look awful right now.  plus, the ensemble kinda makes me look like a fallout character)
