Fang - first word for the SciArtSeptember art challenge
Choose to paint a Mandrill due to their long canine teeth, which can grow up to 2.5 inches long in males, and smaller in female Mandrills and I've always have found their fangs to be impressive and a bit scary lol.
This was super fun to paint! I do not know if I'll keep doing a painting a day as a painting can take longer then a drawing for me but maybe I can do one every 5 word, still can't decide.
Still thanks to @lizlagomorph for hosting this art challenge! I only really starting posting my art on social media in the last year and wasn't able to do this challnege as September had already passed. Excited to do it this year and see everyone elses artworks!
Continuing with the anatomy train: Quoys parrotfish! I think this is the last one I worked on for 2019, was so much fun to illustrate!
SciArtSeptember Day 3: Jewel
An eastern grass jewel butterfly.
Word 26: Lost The last definitive sighting of an ivory-billed woodpecker was in 1944. The bird has not been declared extinct in the United States and many remain hopeful that it still lives in isolated forests and marshlands.
SciArtSeptember Day 13: Bottleneck Wisent herds have been reintroduced to Eurasia and now number in the thousands. All living animals are descended from 12 individuals.
SciArtSeptember Day 15: Spawning Sockeye salmon undergo colourful transformation.
