This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my dad's gentle passing as he slept with the light of summer, and the rest of my family's good health. We have a roof over ours heads and the food on our table, and though there are worries on the horizon, we don't as of now want for the basic needs; that in itself is a mighty thing.

I am thankful for the love of my wife, who gave me soft words when I needed them most, who is my rock in the storms and my joy on brighter days. I would have been lost long ago if not for her. And for my friends, who have the greatest patience and faithfulness while I've been away, sending their love even when I've been too withdrawn to properly return it. Though we're divided by distance, we're close in heart, and I've never known truer folk in my life.

You wondrous people have my love and everlasting gratitude. Cheers to you this day, whether it is one you celebrate or not, and I hope to have you all in my life for much more time to come.
