Ultimately, neither Scott nor Ilya were expecting much. It was just that no one around them had thought to give it to them.

For them whose childhood years had been lonely, for them who had either forgotten or never known the comfort of their parents, for them who grew up lacking love, simply being together - that was already enough.

I think I want to play around with both Scott and Ilya’s loneliness. They’re both tragic in that sense, albeit in different ways, so I’m excited to mesh it together.

Scilya Flower Shop AU

Retired hockey legend Scott Hunter seeking a quieter life, opening up a flower shop somewhere. Scott doesn’t want to admit to himself that he’s still stalling…hiding. He thought retirement would give him the freedom to be himself but years of concealment don’t fall away that easily. Enter current star player going through a slump (maybe after his father’s death?) Ilya Rozanov who finds the shop having flowers delivered to another hookup every other week. Scott helps Ilya find his groove and Ilya helps Scott step back into the sun
