Ambush the Avatar and try to yeet him off a cliff? Why not. Y E E T
Well, guess he’ll have to think twice next time before going for a walk on his own huh? It happens quicker than he can do anything really, and he’s letting out a startled YELP when he goes flying.
But he’s lucky enough to have his staff on him, snapping its wings out out of reflex. Up through the air he goes, sailing back above the cliff side to get a good look at his attacker, face dropping in dismay upon noting the Fire Nation apparel. This won’t be good.
“ Pushing a kid off a cliff ? Really ?! At least warn me next time ! ”
@scorchedsparrow / 🔥 crescent city (p213)
“ you didn’t think to warn anyone? ” his voice is stern, golden eyes glaring the fellow fire bender down. the fire lord taps his index finger on the arm of the throne before he sits up, soldiers at each side tensing until he waves at them to relax. “ very well. i’ll offer you help. ”
they had said that travelling through fire nation would be scary, but he did not feel that way. everything, everything, but not water. water that reminded him of jordie, of his floating body and how he clanged to it like an animal, how he clanged to life, so desperate, so weak. kaz had no idea where he was leading, but there was talk that perhaps a colonel or a captive might have found inej a very interesting source of service. but why her? because there was nothing better than a good business and firenation was by far the wealthiest of all four nations {or three nations since there were no air nomads?} he bit his tongue. sure, even he had to feel some certain respect for the unknown monks. it reminded him of grisha of his country, hunted, captured and let to die in their cages like animals. he knew he had to start somewhere. somewhere to take a bite before he would embark on the aimless journey. there was always hope and he was pragmatic enough not to allow that into his heart and yet he somehow stupidly always expected that she would show up, that her face would come up somewhere, somehow and they would leave together, that this was all some sort of a dreamy adventure. ‘one cup of green tea and this cake’ he said to the waiter as he had just realised that a girl was looking across the table. ‘anything to look at?’ he spat, suddenly angry at the whole world. was she staring at his cane or at his gloves that he kept constantly wearing even on his journeys?

ACHOO -- oop, that was fire out her mouth and licking up at the other's sleeve. Yikes.
“ . . . bless you,” sara muttered, swimming back away from the water’s edge.
