Today we printed 100 impressions of a highly detailed helio relief woodblock by Appalachian State University professor Scott Ludwig (https://www.scottludwigart.com). Ludwig is one of the first artists featured in BIG INK's "Affordable Editions" program. "Affordable Editions" is a new opportunity open to select artists who have previously participated in one of BIG INK's call for entry events. We invite individuals to hand carve a 24" x 18" woodblock which is then sent to us and printed in a run of 100. 95 of those prints are signed and numbered while the other 5 are retained by the artists as proofs. We then sell the edition of 95 for $95 dollars each. The result is an original hand printed poster sized woodcut for under a hundred bucks! These prints will be for sale on bigink.org and at a various galleries whom we have established relationships. We are looking forward to discovering how this new venture evolves.
