Thinking about it, but Itto’s biggest struggle in a romantic relationship is when he realizes that it’s not just superficial, or ‘just for fun’. While I don’t think he self-sabotages or purposefully terminates relationships, he’s not really sure what to do when they get deep, either, which can lead to issues...

“I’m constantly at war with this. I trust you, then I don’t. Because it’s easy to say that we’re in love and that’s enough, but it’s not. Because I can’t believe you when you say that you forgive me. I don’t. After everything I’ve done, none of it is forgivable. And I think the true reason is because it’s not all yours to forgive, that there are key people who are dead who would have to forgive me, first, but they wouldn’t. And when you say you do, I don’t believe you, and never will.
