Thanks to scryin' cheap ah g1s, I will become the proud owner of my first ever Dusthide, and a delightfully beach-themed one at that! Or oasis? Something aquatic, because I can't get enough of that theme.

This fellah gets Chrysocolla'd, too. I knew it from the start, but of course I had to weigh all my options first (>.>). You are intriguing, dude. I'm longing to customize you.

Oh my, the scry gets better the longer I look at it. The colors. The shapes. The Ridgebackness. Aaah.

Maemi will get Flecks; the visual differences are minimal, and I prefer it to Firefly for breeding reasons.

Another One

New drrrragon! G1, specifically. Maybe... maybe I should stop. Or should I? Hm...

Brought to my attention by the good ol' scryin' cheap ah gen1s thread. Currently convincing myself that I do not need to check what they'd look like as different breeds, with different genes, etc.

I think I crave Glimmer an overwhelming amount in this case, although Flecks and Soap could be workable, too.

I found them scried with Lacquer, but I think I prefer Foam? Could be a primal. I'm contemplating whether I should apply a Silhouette Scroll to get the best of both poses.

Accent: Ancient Memories is a nice match.

Lore starter: a seer who lost the ability to predict the future, so now they look to the past; a renowned historian.

On the Wings of Celestial Seasons

Okay, this one came unexpected. Welcome to Victrix!

Really, really, really pretty dragon. To make matters worse: oh good gods, the potential. A few examples:

I could make my yellow-range Flecks dreams come true, as I'd finally have a female counterpart. And Flecks is so, so amazing on Obelisks.

To my surprise, I did not have a dragon with a Sky primary. I do have several potential keepers from my own breeding dilemmas sitting in my Den, but that shouldn't stop me, right? I like Sky's accent colors a lot, and Flaunt has got all the right ones. I'd Sky-Flaunt all of Sornieth if I could (or if there wasn't Grapefruit)!

Am I a pastels person? I've had my doubts lately, but pastels usually implies colors, and if there's color, you can count me in. Plus the yellows, and BUTTERCUP! ARGFVF Buttercup really butters my bagel (I'm lactose intolerant)

I'm sure I'll manage to make Vixtrix be connected to The Plot as well, somehow, unintentionally. Once I'm done *checks notes* thinking about dragons definitely not connected to it (?). Helicoha is waiting.

I'll never get around to my backlog of dragons to be dressed, will I.

Just when I think I'm done with new dragons for now, a dragon comes around out of the blue and hits that nerve extra hard.

New Year, New Projects

Two very different G1s and a couple of scries that convinced me!

Saffron/Cottoncandy/Umber is a ton of fun to work with. While I have no shortage of dragons with either Saffron or Cottoncandy, there are simply too many fun combinations.

The morphology that persuaded me: Sailfish on a furry breed (Tundra) + its Saffron gradients, Cottoncandy in any of its beautiful presentations, many of which having darker markings that match Umber, and Ringlets forming an eye shape on the wing arm.

Polkadot could also be interesting, and I have yet to scry the dragon as an Ancient breed.

Maize/Platinum/Gloom is exceptionally matchy overall, especially with Gloom Paradise. Since I don't want to buy a Cirrus scroll and don't like its presentation on M Auraboa, this leaves me with Everlux and Thorntails.

It's wonderful on Everlux, but they barely have any primary and secondary genes that go well with it, and those that do are leaning rather monochrome.

Thorntails, however, have a vast pool of genes that don't clash terribly and make it easy to include some accent colors. Additionally, this might be my chance to finally have an Arcane Primal. Gem genes aren't necessary, there are multiple fitting secondaries and Chorus could be a substitute for Pharaoh.

(Will I settle for any of these scries? Probably not before having checked out all the other options... only to return to and choose the first scries I found. Oh well.)

Strike of Inspiration (1)

On my quest to find the perfect secondary color and gene combo for a F Pearlcatcher with Buttercup Iridescent and Grapefruit Opal, I ended up with a long list of options (naturally). To make picking my personal favorite (=1) easier, I compiled all the scries, and since I only get to choose one (1), I thought I'd share them in hopes of providing some inspiration.
