Shadow Box pt. 2

For my second shadow box, I used the word stuck and projected it onto the corner of my room with my bed.

I edited the photo a few different ways, some focusing solely on the words.

I have one more shadow box to use, saying “Freedom”. I hope to project this shadow box outside. I haven’t had a chance to do so yet as it has been raining all weekend but hopefully today I’ll be able to complete this part of my project.

Failed sculpture

I had the idea to make a wire sun,stars, moon and cloud go incorporate the outside world with the world I inhabit in my bedroom. I also wanted them to represent time going past within the four walls of my bedroom.

I started by trying to create a cloud using wire, cardboard, fairy lights and cotton balls.

While this cloud definitely looked the part, it wasn’t structurally sound. I then decided to use an empty jar as the base for the cloud. I added the fairy lights into the jar which made sure that the cotton balls had a smooth surface to be attached to.

What I failed to plan for, was the fact that I couldn’t hang these structures from the ceiling of my room.

I used my curtain pole to hang this portion of the sculpture. Luckily I took this photo before the piece started to fall.

While I hoped that this sculpture would work, I didn’t think through the weight of the piece when hanging it up.

Sculpture Workshop 15/2/21

For this workshop we started off with a presentation on how to get started with sculpture and the importance of a routine.

We were then tasked with creating the tallest sculpture we could make.

Unfortunately, my internet stopped working around this point and I was unable to continue the workshop, however I found the beginning of this workshop to be very beneficial in helping me get started with the sculpture elective.

Daily Limbo

(Edit: I changed the name of this piece cause the other one was useless :))

This is an installation piece I did during the week. I have had a ball of blue twine in my room for years and never had a use for it until now.

I brought the twine around my room to show the route I take around my room throughtout the day

I started at my bed and brought the twine to my desk, dresser, my door and finished back at my bed in accordance to the path I took the day before.

I want to possibly explore this idea more and see where else I can take it, especially in my other two electives

I made this as an audio representation of my written work were i write layer over layer until its unreadable, i did the same with me talking. I recorded me talking for about a minuet and did that 6 time an layered all 6 on top of each other so that you can't hear what I'm saying.

I completely covered two coffee cups in my hand writing until till it was unreadable
