Let my mom and Annabeth know that I'm alright, okay? See you soon, bro. ( Take my small hiatus as Percy going on a quest, okay, OKAY I MISS YOU )
he doesn’t have a good feeling about this. at all. and jason knows that percy is a competent, capable and--it has to be said--dangerous demigod. there’s not much out there that he hasn’t faced before, including but not limited to hell itself. jason is entirely sure that everyone on their little team can handle... well. just about anything at this point.
but it doesn’t mean they should HAVE to. or that he should just feel totally fine and easy with percy leaving without someone he’s fought with before at his side. which felt childish, a little overprotective. jason reminds himself not to fall prey to his old anxieties, those quest-wrought fears he’d spent the last few months fighting off. you can’t always dive in as a shield.
so he takes a deep breath, straightens his expression, and--
`yeah. i will. just--promise me you’ll send them an iris message as soon as you get the chance. if you need back up out there, message us immediately. okay? stay safe--don’t talk to strangers--` alright, that part’s a joke. at least jason’s smiling less strained now. `good luck, jackson.`
