Would you mind telling me about Minnie, please? She’s mostly all cream but has dark paws, tail and stomach (and face as you can see). Her stomach used to be cream-colored too but it grew back chocolate after she was spayed.
she’s a seal tortoiseshell point ! she mayyyyy have some white but this pic isn’t easy for me to tell
not doing some big genetic explanation rn but the colorpoint effect is temperature sensitive, leading to colder spots on the cat growing darker fur! colorpoint kittens start out lighter because of their higher body temps, and get darker with age as that lowers. elderly colorpoints can get much darker as their body temps lower ! this is also why colorpoints have darker faces, ears, paws, and tails - those are the coldest parts of a cat! ok block of text, but this is why her tummy is darker now - it was exposed to colder air as her fur was growing back and it grew back darker !
something’s goin on here but she/he won’t tell us :3c any guesses?
she looks a lot like a seal tortoiseshell point! pheomelanin gets washed out by point very easily, so it looks like the cat has odd white spots.
this ask is from a few months ago, would you mind sending some updates? we would love to see her a bit bigger!
how would you describe her color? she’s my pretty darling girl but I’m kinda guessing when I describe her coat.
seal tortoiseshell point! what a pretty example of one of my all time favourite types of cat!!
My mom just adopted this beautiful momma with kitties. My sister says she's a calico colourpoint with lighter colors, even the brown on the ears and tail is light... i think she might also have a bit of tabbyness on the tail.
mama cat looks like a seal tortie point with low white! as far as i can tell, she has two blue self kittens with varying low white spotting!
introducing: cheesy gordita crunch 🌮
Such a beautiful cat! Cheesy Gordita Crunch seems to be a tortoiseshell seal point, absolutely adorable!
Waves!!!! One of my hyperfixations is cat genetics, but this stray cutie I've been hanging out with lately has me stumped. She's definitely a colorpoint (she's gotten significantly darker since Fall started coming) I'd guess now a chocolate classic colorpoint tabby but I'm interested to see what you think!!!
(Picture of her in the Fall)

she looks like a seal point tortie! torties get very washed out by point bc pheomelanin is very weak, so it ends up looking like they have white patches
Hiya!! I've got my two girls I'm very curious about :] the black cat (Athena) has darker extremities and rly light armpits which I've never seen before! The calico (i think) (Purrsephone) is our new kitten and she seems to be dilute except in her extremities! Her ears are also split orange and black, which is neat :) I'd love to know what your thoughts are on them!
a seal tortoiseshell point with low white spotting and solid black ! i’d say that lighter part on athena is some lighter undercoat :)
