i cant deny that vex grian is incredibly tempting as an idea, but i think yall are missing that fuckin everything is grian in the grastle?????

i dont think grian is a vex, i think grian is a cosmic entity that warps and twists everything around him into visages and thralls of himself.

lest we forget the waffle of waffleduo???

grian has always been unknowable and eldritch, but give me unknowable grian that extends beyond. give me a grian who cannot and does not want to hide his horror. give me a grian whose mere presence bends reality itself to his own will and his own image.

i just think that'd be neat :3

etern's rendoc headcanons

ren likes to sit in doc's lap while doc works. occasionally doc will try to explain what he's doing but ren has no fucking clue what his his darling husband is saying he just "rrf"s affirmatively.

extension of the previous, while ren is in doc's lap, doc will occasionally find himself unconsciously chewing on ren's ear. ren is so desensitized to this that he doesn't even notice.

extension of the previous, sometimes other hermits will find doc nibbling on ren's ear and get very confused. its only at this point that ren or doc of them become aware of doc doing this.

ren has a very sensitive nose that is very trained on doc's scent and he can track doc down to nearly anywhere.

ren will frequently go up to doc, stick his face in doc's fur, and take a big ass whiff. ("what's that for, dear?" "my dude, you are the best smell in my entire life")

doc has made a hypersonic quantum compound skeleton farm in an attempt to impress ren. ren doesn't have the heart to tell him that he's been chewing on one bone for eight years and can't switch now. (any new bones just wouldn't have the right grooves and bumps it would be a sensory nightmare [definitely not creating a slightly autistic coded rendog wdym])

doc has also made earplugs that specifically filter out storm sounds because the thunder scares ren.

ren likes to write plays and cast hermits in different roles. doc would never act in such a play and ren knows this. however through relentless begging, doc has agreed to help ren run lines so he can get the dialogue sounding exactly right

extension of the prev; doc gets way more into it than he'd like to admit.

extension of the prev 2x; only once has doc missed one of ren's performances, and even then only half of the play. reason being he died midshow due to a firework mishap.

ren and doc do in fact share a bed, however doc sleeps on the actual bed while ren has a dog bed. the dog bed is not on the floor, it is in the bed with doc.

etern's boat boys headcanons

they do not live together. they have several houses they have built collaboratively and that they co-own, but they never live in the same house as the other. they have to communicate on who will take what house so that they dont accidentally plan to stay in the same house for any length of time.

ext of prev; they've tried living together. etho stays up all night clamoring in the kitchen doing god-knows-what when joel is trying to sleep, plus he sheds (wolf). joel sleeptalks and plays way too many pranks. they simply can't stand each other when they live together.

joel (tanuki) unconsciously leaves little magical traps around wherever he goes. leaves that explode when disturbed, pots that transform whoever opens them. he tries to control it but it's just his nature. an aura of sheer mischief.

ext of prev; joel physically needs to play practical jokes on people. if he doesnt, the unconscious trap-laying gets way worse and sometimes becomes dangerous. its all about trying to find healthy outlets for his mischievous energy.

joel and etho both have cat-style love. they love each other, but not in the same ways. they can't be near each other when they want to. they lash out at each other without meaning to. to elaborate on that, they have periods of wanting to give affection. but at all other times they feel smothered by the idea of affection. "he's obsessed with me!" "no he's obsessed with me!" both are true, but they're obsessed with each other at different times. when their affectionate times line up and they can cuddle each other, kiss each other, be around each other and dote on each other. otherwise, they act as if they hate each other because it affirms their style of love. if one is feeling affectionate while the other is distant, they'll send love letters, build each other gifts, express affection from a distance. letting the other know that they're still there. that's enough for them

ext of prev; it's the reason they don't want people to perceive them as in a relationship. half the time they can't stand the thought of being with the other.

they have had a really rocky relationship journey. in the beginning they kept breaking up with each other and coming away feeling bitter and hateful towards the other, but they couldn't stop returning to each other. it's taken a long time to figure out how to stay together without being toxic to each other. what they've settled on now is what's worked the best so far.
