I can't even eat breakfast because my Evil Yesterday's Self left the table like this

Was ironing an old cotton sheet for mask making, and had to step away for a minute. Came back to this.

Friend: Hey, I have a new skirt for Irish dancing. Could you hem it?
Me: I would but I'm out of town. When do you need it?
Friend: That's okay, I'll just cut it. It won't be noticeable on stage.
Me, a seasoned seamstress, costume designer, wardrobe master: ... sorry what?

I’m so done with Joann’s.
They had a deep discount sale over the weekend. Ordered a bunch of flannel, because baby blankets. (Why are so many people having babies right now???). Got an email this morning that they had cancelled my order because they couldn’t verify some info. Reviewed the order info. All was correct. Had to RE-order same stuff, at a higher price because they won’t honor the sale price, since the sale has ended.
Last time I give them my money.
I’ve been making and selling custom clothing and plushes and other textile pieces for about more than 20 years, and this is the first time I’ve had a customer that doesn’t read the emails I send. This guy has asked me 5 times now about how to pay me, and I have told him, 5 times. He’s asked for multiple last minute changes--that I have accommodated at a cost to me in now discarded materials!--but won’t follow through on his end by sending me the design he wants. Driving me crazy! If I could reasonably charge him more, just for the aggravation, I would.
I can’t help but wonder how many yards of fabric (and money!) I’ve wasted over the last 40 years, having to square the ends of a cut. You’d think that, since selvages are straight, AND cutting counters are straight--they usually have a rulered edge, right?--and the cutting channel should be square to the table edge, that it’d be fairly simple to cut a length that’s mostly squared. But NOOOOO! Little over 2″ off on this particular piece--on this end. Haven’t done the other end yet. *sigh*
