Jonathan hated weddings. He had ever since he’d gotten divorced. But, when the wedding in question was his cousin’s, he had no choice but to attend. He had arrived on time with a gift in hand, watched the ceremony and not cried, and now he was at the reception, standing by the bar with a drink in hand and begrudgingly surveying the room. He spotted a blonde woman alone and, judging by her attire, he guessed that she had to have been the wedding planner. She was beautiful, he noticed, and although he couldn’t help but think that she was probably a terrible romantic, he had to go over and say hello. “I’m Jonathan,” he said, stretching out his hand to introduce himself. “Can I buy you a drink?” he joked, since it was an open bar.
