Excerpt from “The Only Now” __ I thought my breath was the breeze it felt like fingertips __ 👸🏽: @ale_garze 📷: @arelopez.photo 🎨: @murabodycanvas __ In the morning I thought we were lying beneath the tallest trees of all. I thought my breath was the breeze it felt like fingertips rapping on what must have been my branches. I deepened and the leaves began to lie down. It was sudden the trees disappearing. The trees disappearing. Your face right beside mine because there was nothing between us. Our faces right beside the sky because there was nothing between us. A bomb cries into a cliff at the edge of the sea. One hundred years later a hotel is built into a rocky cove where a wave keeps crashing. In the morning, that bombed cove has landed inside me. I thought we were lying in an empty pool of an abandoned hotel touching the sea. The water rushing back from a full bank of tiny rocks in the asylum of both the past and the future. __ WHAT DISTORTS YOUR REALITY? __ I miss writing long form sometimes, but I’ll get back to it eventually.
