"EBB AND FLOW"
by Craig Cundiff and Ari Glass
Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2019, @ArtspaceUSA is now a network of more than 50 properties in more than 20 states, developing residential and work-space for artists and advocating for their needs. With more than 1,000 artists on the waiting list in Seattle alone, Artspace opened its third project in the city in 2014, on Rainier Ave adjacent to the Mt. Baker Light Rail Station. Originally from New Orleans, illustrator and fine artist Craig Cundiff moved to Seattle after Hurricane Katrina and South Seattle Emerald reports that his work "explores anatomy, space, and displacement." Rainier Valley native Ari Glass describes himself as a 'spiritual painter' and his work reflects the rich cultural diversity of the area. Now living alongside each other at Artspace the two have collaborated on multiple projects transforming the neighborhood, including this 2016 wall of the nearby auto parts store. @craigcundiff/ @thesoufender/
