We have observed a lot of different ways a solo record can sound from those that used to populate many electronic music outfits as their members in our discussions on these phenomena. However, we do notice that most of them find a certain continuity with what they did in their group situations and Benjamin Diamond should be seen as one such case. His name might not be familiar at first, yet when you remember his voice made a side project by Daft Punk soar, you recall who he is. Of course, his solo platters contain him trying to capture of his peers, though I'm surprised his work doesn't become more known. While I could be wrong here – I'm funny that way –, I do think, for instance, the tune of his in the link should be cherished as an incredible piece of electronic music.
You know what would be cool to see an artist do? And something I'd do if I could draw/paint? Characters with blemishes beyond the typical "adorable dorky nose freckles". Like....full on Seb K conditions blemishes. Like me. Covered in a shit ton of skin marks. Really dark ones. Some that look like black, angry cancerous warts but are actually benign. All over their body. Really extreme freckles wherever you look. In really irritating locations like the hair line so they get really self conscious about their hair style and pimples growing on their already noticeable Seb K's and about them popping and causing the Seb K to turn malign but then nothing happens because at the end of the day those marks are big benign beauty marks and they're really just too beautiful and it's their excess beauty solidifying into black, scary looking marks on their skin. I get it's not as unique or special as pigmentation mutations and such. No, that's not derogatory, that's science and mutations are beautiful and magical. But still, characters with a lot of moles and Seb K's so everyone thinks they get heaps of sunlight and have melanomas but really they're big shut ins and those marks are just marks and not evil.
