So I think I’m gonna start making a post for every CD I ingest into the station’s system.
Today’s album is Neurotic Showering Habits by Good For You, released under Good Forks Records in 2003.
The sticker from the record label that sent it to the station reads as follows: “Oakland seminal quirk/noise-rock trio offers up intelligent constructions of distorted guitar, Casio keyboard, fast drums and lots of side-trips. Not to mention instrumental freak outs to please even the most schizophrenic indie rock aficionado. Minimal production and a varied sonic palette includes base, percussion, Flex-A-Tone, thumb piano, and a TV. Guest appearances include Stoo Odom, base on 11 (Graves Brothers Deluxe, Thin White Rope) and production/hand claps by Gar Wood (Hot Snakes & Beehive & Barracudas) on 15. TRY tracks 1, 3, 9”
My favorite tracks were Conversation Popularé and Back When it was Hot. Also, there is a secret track.
I couldn’t find much of anything about them on the internet. Searches on Spotify and Genius turned up nothing, and the domain for the website listed on the back had lapsed. All I could find was a listing on Disc Hogs, which only gave the band name, record label, and track names.
