Lu nodded in agreement, keeping the false, interested smile on her face. "Oh, darling, that sort of music always appeals to me. Couldn't say why." She remarked. "But your talent is absolutely astounding. You should be touring the world, performing for the Queen, at the top of the ladder."
Annaliese nodded approvingly when the woman mentioned her preference in music.
Annaliese waved a hand at the woman, saying “Oh, please don’t say that! There are millions of pianists in the world that don’t even get the honor of performing in a beautiful place like this!” She turned and gestured towards the beautiful, historic arts center behind the two.
“It’s all just a matter of management and sponsors and connections with the “right” people, afterall.” she mentioned, the enthusiasm in her voice fading.
“You have to push some people off the ladder to get the top.” she chuckled lightly. “And that’s not the way I go about my business… nowadays…” she added reluctantly.
