My backpack starts to hurt my shoulders after a while of walking. Zoey looks exhausted and our dogs look dehydrated.
Taking water and the bowls I brought for them, I pour some in and let them drink it.
The only reason we're so exhausted is because we haven't been able to take any buses. None of them allow pets. Our dogs are so loyal, we aren't leaving them behind for our own well beings.
"It's getting dark outside. Let's go to sleep." I walk closer to Zoey and say. She nods her head and plops down on the ground.
Her eyes close and her breathing slows, so I know she's fast asleep.
