D1: Background
Squashed between the rogueish Calixis Sector and the nervous regions bordering the Eye of Terror, the Ixaniad Sector has enjoyed relative peace and security since the end of the Meritech Wars. Despite its ancient history, it is a shell of its former glory, due to the isolation caused by the perilous journeys around the Eye, the frantic and cut-throat machinations of the region’s aristocratic Houses and the constant draining of arms, men and money on rimward endeavours. More recently however, efforts have been discussed that may bring a new golden age after thousands of years’ worth of steady decay: a stable path to the Segmentum Pacificus.
