😉 What are my muse’s fetishes/kinks? 

Erik doesn’t necessarily have proper fetishes. Despite being definitely promiscuous, he’s mostly pretty vanilla. But two things I can say is that he has a weird thing about his partners moaning, and he seems to enjoy being bossed around (but just a little bit, he is also bossy).

💯 What is my muse’s ideal date? 

Erik is actually pretty simple with this. He usually likes to get something to eat at some point, but he doesn’t really care which meal it is. Then he just wants to talk. He likes to talk while walking through gardens, or playing chess, or sitting next to a river. Wherever is nice, really. But mostly he just wants to get to know the person he’s on a date with and figure out if they’re worth his time.

💘 What are the ways my muse says ‘I love you’ without actually saying it? 

There’s a lot of little gestures in this one. He’ll cook dinner one night without being asked. He’ll set aside time to make sure he can talk to his loved ones about what’s bothering them even if he has a very busy day ahead. Sweet things like that. He also does actually say “I love you” all the time, but that’s not the question.

One.

Raven is laughing and pushing her long blonde hair out of her face. “Oh come on, admit it. You totally do.”

He shakes his head. “No. There’s nothing to admit.”

She laughs again. “Oh, of course.” She grins. “I’ve seen you two looking at each other. You totally love him.”

He just raises his eyebrows and shakes his head again. “No,” he says, glancing at where Charles is talking to Hank across the lawn. “I don’t love him.”

Charles makes eye contact with him and he smiles.

Erik feels weak.

Two.

It’s barely been two days since Cuba, and he hasn’t slept. He doesn’t realize how long he’s been standing in the kitchen until Emma comes in and clears her throat. He looks up.

“Still not sleeping, hm?” she says, leaning on the wall and watching him. She tilts her head at him. “You miss him don’t you?”

Erik turns and glares at her. “No. There’s just a lot to do.”

She just smiles at him, but her eyes stay cold. “It’s okay, you know,” she said. “We all lost someone we loved that day.”

He just snorts and shakes his head.

“No. I didn’t love him.”

It doesn’t make the nightmares stop.

Three.

They stopped the car before they got to the plane to get some fresh supplies, and he can see Charles talking to Hank and Logan outside. He watches them in silence, and every once and a while he sees Charles gesture angrily in his direction. He can only imagine what’s being said.

“Hey, what’s up with you two?”

He turns and looks at Peter, the only one still left in the car. “Excuse me?”

“You and that Charles guy,” says Peter, gesturing at the group outside. “I was getting some severely weird vibes from you two after he punched you. What is it? Do you like -- love him or something?”

He frowns. “I don’t love him,” he says sharply.

Peter shrugs. “Geez, I’m sorry I asked,” he grumbles.

They’re quiet after that.

Four.

Magda is asleep and the wedding is tomorrow. But he can’t sleep. He’s just standing at the window, thinking about a beach in Cuba. He should’ve let go a long time ago, and he thought he had -- but the presence is still in his head.

He shook himself out. It was just the cold feet talking. This was normal. He didn’t love Charles.

But it doesn’t explain why he feels so empty as he gets back into bed.

Five.

Apocalypse took Charles away already, and Angel is finishing inside the pyramid. But Apocalypse takes Erik aside with one last word.

“My son,” he says, looking at Erik with those oddly colored eyes of his. “The telepath... He came to you.”

Erik nods. “We used to be friends,” he says. “Sometimes he likes to check up on me.” Every ten years, like clockwork.

The god tilts his head slightly. “You will remember your place,” he says, his voice only the faintest of threats. And Erik understands. He’s telling him not betray him for Charles.

Erik shakes his head. “Don’t worry,” he says. “I don’t love him anymore.”

One.

"I’m sorry, old friend. I just don’t think that I can.” His hands are in Charles’s, and it’s almost 2am. The house is nearly rebuilt, and in a few days, Erik won’t have a reason to stay anymore. “I would if I could, but they still need me. You know that, Charles.”

Charles nods, pretending to be understanding. Erik knows he’s trying, and he appreciates the effort he’s putting into it. “I know. I’m just sorry I can’t convince you stay.”

Erik looks at him, and he licks his lips. “Charles.” He can do this. He can say it. All these years of denying it in fear of what the admission would lead to. But what’s the worst that could happen now?

“I love you.”

There’s a moment of silence, then Charles looks up at him and smiles just a little bit. “I know,” he says. “I’ve always known.”

But somehow that just makes it worse.

Somehow, that just makes it all the harder when he has to leave.
