❛ antoine ! what a- what a surprise ! ❜ could she be any more awkward ? honestly , probably , but that wasn't the real issue . the problem was that mona never really knew how to act around riley's friends , especially antoine . she always tried to be nice , it was just mona's personality really and yet there always seemed to be something off with him . ❛ come in ! riley isn't home but i bet they'll be here soon . just uh ... give me a sec ! ❜ quickly , the blonde disappeared into the room for one reason and one alone : the cowplant . what started as an accident materialized by riley ( at least that's how mona understood it ) quickly became a third roommate and yet , truth be told , not everyone reacted kindly to the sight of a cowplant — which is why she tossed a blanket over the creature , frowning a bit as it let out a sad moo . ❛ i'm sorry , jimmy . it's just for a little while ! ❜ she apologized , then promptly rushed to the door to open it wider . ❛ sorry bout that , you know what they say : no home is sheltered from a storm ! ❜ or something like that .

❛ hey , cool mask ! ❜ maybe a little intimidating but mona made an active choice not to overthink it ; after all , what are the odds that bad guys would actually wear a mask with devil horns to such a major , townwide event ? the blonde was familiar enough with evil to know it didn't always look that way . in fact , it usually didn't . ❛ i  think  it's  one  of  the  more  original  ones  i've  seen  tonight ,  though  i  guess  there's  only  so  much  authenticity  one  can  bring  to  a  formal  masquerade  ball . ❜  at least people seemed to be having fun and honestly , she thought everyone looked good . both of those aspects were the only thing mona could ask for .

ZANE GRINNED AS HE SAT UPON THE STOOL AT THE photo booth, he had been peering through the box of accessories and chose for himself some reindeer antlers and a big red nose. He patiently awaited for his companion to join him, snickering in delight as he held up a santa's beard and hat in his hands. "I thought it would be fun to match!" he beamed, handing them towards Antoine. "Or I could be an elf.. up to you!"
