Once you’re hooked, you can’t let go. Selace uplift us with this lustful and damn catchy tribute to lurve, which is in the tradition of those classic US Soulful House tunes that actually have meaning (think this or that). But appearances can be misleading. The manipulation of beats and grooves on this track suggests a different origin. In actual fact, Selace is a new project from Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx fame and vocalist Gina. So Hooked On Your Lovin sees textured energetic beats and buoyant organ keys do the work behind Gina’s affectionate vocals. Mousse T supplies a couple of remixes that grease up the grooves, but the original is the winner.
