The Efforts of Kediri Regency Government and Public Participation to Preserve PANJI Culture
Indonesia culture is currently experiencing a shift slightly in the hearts of people due to a strong cultural influences from outside. Especially in this era very difficult to find young generation who still know about history and their origin culture. The reasons is less interesting origin cultural that resulted in many foreign cultures tend to be more attractive so as to shift the historical and cultural presence there. Therefore, it’s very necessary doing some activity to preserve of the culture.
The tourism, history and culture must belong to every region in Indonesia, not least in Kediri Regency. There are a variety of travel, history and culture that make Kediri has many kinds of stories. You have to know that the history and culture in Kediri has tremendous potential to be preserved and must be supported by a good introduction.
As a young generation, preserving local culture of our origin is like a homework that have to be done soon. Such as in my home, one of the efforts to preserve the culture that is doing intensively conducted by the Government of Kediri Regency is determined to develop a culture of the local area with the introduction of these cultures from an early age to the children. One way to preserve the culture with education system.
Preserving culture through education became one of the alternative way that chosen by the Government. The effective of Media introduction and efficient can be done in various ways, such as they use of media Wayang Beber Painting Competition and PANJI art-themed Jaranan with various storylines spread across the archipelago. You have to know that Jaranan is one of the local culture Kediri that need to be preserved too. Nowadays, Kediri Regency Government are working so hard to lift up the Jaranan art as a symbol of regional identity as well as a cultural icon. One of the step that have been implemented are appointed two people from teachers and art teacher primary school that have appointed by Dinas Pendidikan dan Olah Raga sections of kindergarten and primary school will be expected to materialize the ideals of the Government as a cultural preservation Kediri efforts.
On the anniversary of Kediri this year takes the concept about "Panji Balik Kampung" or we can say “Panji Back to Village”, it means to collect the scattered and then reassembling become more beautiful and meaningful. The concept Panji Balik Kampung as an effort "Nglumpukne Balung Pisah" or we can say that “collecting the separate bones”. The concept is not biased to any claim or acquisitions. Through these activities are expected to be able to preserve and reestablish a noble culture that has developed around the archipelago for centuries.
We have to know that the Panji cultural has been widespread throughout the archipelago to the Semenanjung Malaya and Indo-China. Meanwhile, in East Java, we could find Panji still prevalent complete and dominant. The distribution of Panji culture fairly widespread in the archipelago is a valuable asset for Indonesian cultural treasure. Panji culture has grown together with the local wisdom of local communities so that they can become part of life in communities throughout the country.
Panji is a word that is quite popular in our ears and have a thousand meanings. The position in East Java become very important when Panji was drawn as a legendary figure named Asmarabangun or Inu Kertapati coupled with Galuh Candrakirana. This story was so attached to the memory of the Java community, it makes interested researchers to uncover the story of Panji from time to time. Researchers have tried to uncover matters of Panji, either persona, historiography, the spread of culture, fashion, and with regard to the arts affected Panji culture. Through the process of birth and growth, Panji transformed into a culture that has a variety of aspects of wealth.

The concept of Kediri anniversary is about "Panji Balik Kampung". This year was deliberately made different to make it more memorable and government target to remain sustainable local arts can be achieved. The government hopes that, with this activity more people love the area where they lived with various arts.
The aim of this activity to provide the insight and knowledge to the young generation about the Kediri culture covering several aspects, such as History, Antiquities, Traditional Culture and Values Tradition and gives an overview and encourage the young generation to develop a framework of positive, active, and was critical of the problems of cultures Kediri estuary is the preservation of the cultural survival of local Kediri and the growing spirit of "Loving Kediri".
Seeing the enthusiasm of the public in Kediri, this cultural week activities regularly conducted every year by the local district government as a form of concern and the efforts of the government towards tradition and preservation. Through these activities are expected to provide a better understanding and insight into the cultural richness of Kediri early to the younger generation so that the preservation of the culture will remain intact. Through several assessment parameters, generally this activity was successfully held, however the organizers will continue to be evaluated and improvements to the restoration of good over the years. As well as the community to maintain the culture in order to remain sustainable, to still be enjoyed until whenever, especially for young generation.
