she isn’t terrified of him, she’s terrified of death.
and he’s capable of displaying it right in front of her eyes as a warning, possible do it to her if there was a boundary that was crossed. trust is something that begins to be held within a tiny string, unsure of how she feels but at the same time she figured it out steadily. their connection almost seemed too good to be true, surreal even. and despite how well they can get along, despite the bickering and the head butting; god, she’s conflicted.
“maybe. i don’t know.” the uncertainty slips out in a coo, whistling with lips puckered out in thought for a split second before eyes trailed over to his direction. her shoulders shrug and she plays it off nonchalantly. she is reminded of the people who’ve done her wrong, from the lovers to the friends. they all gave her a reason to say lies in order to keep things for herself, practically stab her right in the back.
“should i trust you? i mean, i feel like you’d strangle me if i do anything wrong. accident or not.” and she laughs, it must’ve been sickening to find it humorous though her humor is as dark as her mindset. the woman had witness jacob done the unspeakable, sometimes unsure of whether he’s human or a whole new creature that the devil had created with his own hands.
though, as of now it seems like they were in good terms. standing besides one another through things that other people had not witness. trust takes process and it something lilith was not comfortable in even thinking of, surprisingly.
he isn’t expecting much out of the question. it’s his curiosity that rings in his head from time to time as he ponders on the people who are considered ‘close’ to him, lilith being an exception. he likes to think of her as one that he wants to keep close for the time being. she’s someone whom intrigues him more than anyone else that he’s encountered during his time. someone who doesn’t judge him ( not that he truly minded being judge ), and also goes along with what he has planned. though they can come to disagreements, or clash it’s the passing of words, what is being said that makes it a challenge for him. oh, how he loves challenges.
trust. it’s not something that one would due, or associate with when it came to jacob, but he wanted to her the female’s response. he knew that he could turn on even the closest people in a mere second, just for the sake of waiting to and not blinking an eye right after.
he studies the female’s features, reading her expressions. he wants to know what thoughts causes her facial features to cause the little creases on her forehead as she goes into thought, what makes her purse her lips, and why she shrugs soon after. he could tell that there was something off as soon as he spoke the question. though, the question he should ask himself is if he was willing to try and put some ounce of trust into her as well. he knew the answer, he could easily say he couldn’t, and even trying at this point was impossible even if he wanted to try. lilith wasn’t someone he wanted dead, in fact she was probably someone he’d rather keep by his side more than his own members of his gang. at least she provided more entertainment, and more results than those idiots.
he crosses his arms over his chest, attention turned towards her as she spoke. a brow raised in the slightest form, and a scoff follows. “you don’t know if you could trust me? now, if i wanted to strangle you...” jacob started, moving his hand towards her neck as his fingers wrapped around its form, applying minimal pressure as he continued. “or harm you in any way i deemed fit for my liking, i would’ve done it already.” he stated with a grin as he looked down at the female, his hand remaining in the same position on her neck.
“i thought you knew me better than that.”
