Oh, what a wonderful world it would be if black people in the hood actually thought that way. If...
they didn't have a victim complex, didn't have a defeatist attitude, practiced self-accountability, didn't settle for the easy way out, thought outside the box, didn't make excuses,
didn't idolize thugs, pimps, gangsters, and thieves,
didn't live with their hands out for government support, possessed resiliency, didn't so easily become products and redistributors of abuse and trauma,
didn't need leaders, asked questions, loved education, didn't fall for useless expired tropes like "brotherhood" and "sisterhood."
GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK
Didn't equate being "hood" with being "black," spoke with proper grammar, conducted themselves accordingly in public, embraced the free market instead of asking for higher wages, didn't automatically accept the traditions and lifestyles of their elders,
reproduced children only when matured with other financially established prominent adults,
made having kids with just one partner a standard and not a goal...
adopted healthier lifestyles, wasn't afraid to be different or disrupt the status quo
didn't attempt to blanket themselves with spirituality to avoid self-evaluation and responsibility, didn't act as a monolith for religious and political affiliation, sought psychological help over spiritual healing,
didn't seek acceptance, and last but not least...
didn't glamorize living in the fucking ghetto and instead made a short goal of leaving it.
...that would be a spectacular world.
