My Story (Part 1)
This is possibly one of the most awful, twisted blog posts ever to be produced on this sometimes-beautiful, once-green planet upon which we spend our lifetimes. My introduction into the world of Japanese Gaming came early, yet I have never properly understood it. I never had a gaming console during my childhood; instead, I would slink off to a friend's house to experience such wondrous things as Super Mario, Yoshi's World, Pokemon Red/Blue and company. I even destroyed one of my fathers' hard drives during my first foray into the Dark Side of Gaming, after leaving a floppy disk with a Gameboy Rom (or three) inside the machine when I shutdown the computer - and forgot to take it out before rebooting. Copy protection was hardcore in those days.
Anyway; due in part to my obstinate nature, and overbearing parental guidance, I never really understood or experienced things like Final Fantasy or Zelda. Instead, I grew up primarily on old OS/2 games (Stardock FTW), Quake, Age of Empires, and the occasional educational game. Games still remained implanted in my head, like a rich treasure chest in one of those old RPGs, full of loot that was inaccessible to me; a separation that has probably fuelled my continued passion for gaming. Regardless of the cause, I am beginning to turn my passion and interest into something practical; even though I cannot code, or draw to save my life; I yearn to help create something that hasn't been done before and to create a new gaming experience, for both my enjoyment, and the enjoyment of others.
Hence this blog. Like the monster Typhon, this tumblr lurks under the surface of the world; full of forbidden thoughts and ideas awaiting release upon the world.
